Nine Inch Nails – The Slip

Not all the songs on the band's new album The Slip are as strident as I first expected.
Nine Inch Nails, which includes a bonus DVD of clips from their rehearsals working on the new tracks, kicks off with 999,999.
It's a bizarre start to the album somewhere between industrial noise and sounds from space.
But then the blistering 1,000,000 follow the prelude and it's a dance track and an easy sing-along.
Although other critics have not enjoyed Echoplex, I have to say I really liked it.
The verses are split up with questions starting with You what you looking at? and then, Hey what you running from?
Builds on their last release, Ghosts I-IV, they throw all they can into the bag including environmental, ambient and rock to piano.
