Man threatened to jump from bridge

3:21pm Thu 3rd Jul 08:: written by Francis Batt

Police were called to the Victoria Bridge on Windsor’s King Edward VII Avenue soon after 1am Sunday morning, when a passer-by reported a man perched precariously on the edge of the 20 foot structure.

The road was closed for half an hour, while officers spoke to the man believed to be in his 20s.

Firemen attended the scene, ready to operate a river rescue if the man fell. But he was brought down successfully by police after three officers spoke to him.
