Gold for Marlow rowers

Three Marlow rowers took gold in the rowing World Cup in Munich yesterday.

Zac Purchase in the lightweight men's double and Katherine Grainger and Annie Vernon in the women's quadruple won the gold in the season's opener in Germany.

The wins helped Great Britain recapture the World Cup points trophy 12 months after the suffered the pain of losing it to the Germans.

Fellow Marlow rowers, Rob Williams and Sarah Winkless were so successful as they could only manage fifth in the mens and womens pairs respectively.
