Three-way crash sparks fire on Marlow bypass

5:19pm Mon 12th May 08:: written by Daniel Darlington

A car burst into flames on the southbound carriageway of the Marlow bypass this morning after colliding with two other vehicles.

One lane of the A404 between the Handy Cross junction of the M40 and Marlow had to be closed for half an hour while firefighters brought the blaze under control.

Six adults and one child were involved in the three-way collision and two women were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Watch manager Andy Ward, from High Wycombe Fire Station, said: "A vehicle crashed into the back of two stationary vehicles at around 9.20am this morning and then caught fire. The fire was probably caused by a petrol leak."
