Cookham discount card proposed

3:39pm Fri 9th May 08:: written by Sonia Kapur

A  Cookham advantage card that would give youngsters discounts for facilities in the area was just one idea proposed at a youth forum last night.

The forum, led by Maidenhead MP Theresa May and Cookham's Youth Project co-ordinator Liz Kwantes,  was attended by about 25 people from various organisations such as the Girl Guides and Cookham Dean Football Club.

The passionate villagers brainstormed how they could work together to keep youngsters in Cookham entertained.

Other ideas included lighting up the basketball courts for evening use, adding a five-a-side football pitch and organising street jumping.

Mrs May and the villagers decided that everyone would meet in September to discuss how the ideas were progressing.
