Distraction burglary spate

8:00am Sat 10th May 08:: written by Claire Moulson

A spate of distraction burglaries across the area have sparked a warning to residents to be on their guard.

Between March 13 and May 7 there have been reports of nine burglaries in Slough, Bracknell, Windsor and Reading.

On each occasion a man stole money from an elderly resident after offering to carry out property maintenance work for them.

Detectives believe the incidents are linked and are searching for a man who is white, aged between 30 and 35, about 5ft 7ins and stocky. He may drive a white van with writing on the side.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 0845 8 505 505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
