Maidenhead shops ban for ASBO boy

4:59pm Thu 8th May 08:: written by Luke Cross

A teenager has been slapped with an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) banning him from Maidenhead's main superstore.

Steven Strong, 17, of Vansittart Road, Windsor, was given a four-year ASBO at Maidenhead Youth Court today.

Strong must not enter Sainsburys, in Providence Place, Maidenhead, or any other shops from which he has been barred.

The order also states that Strong must not remain in any shop once he has been asked to leave.

A breach of an ASBO, put in place to protect the community, can result in criminal proceedings against the teenager.

Alan Barwise, the Royal Borough's interim manager for community safety, said: "We think this sends a strong message in terms of the kind of behaviour that we are discouraging from towns, and in particular Maidenhead."
