Parking spots restored in Windsor

10:42am Thu 8th May 08:: written by Claire Moulson

Pay and display parking is being brought back to three busy roads in Windsor following calls from borough residents.

There has been a recent shake-up in parking regulations in the congested streets in the town centre, however from Monday, June 2 resident permit holders, visitor vouchers and pay and display tickets will be permitted once again in the south section of St Leonards Road, part of Alma Road, and the west section of Clarence Road.

Cllr Colin Rayner, cabinet member for highways, transport and environment, said: "The changes introduced in March were designed to provide more parking for town centre residents close to their own homes.
"But now that the parking pattern has settled down we can see there are opportunities for restoring pay and display to the streets at times when their residents don't use them to the full potential."

Further adjustments could be made in the future by Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead following feedback.
