Prince Harry receives Afghanistan medal

Prince Harry was among the soldiers in Windsor to receive a medal presented by his aunt for his efforts in Afghanistan.
Lt Harry Wales joined his comrades from the Household Cavalry Regiment in a ceremony yesterday, where HRH The Princess Royal, colonel of the Blues and Royals, pinned on medals for operation Herrick.
His father Prince Charles, brother Prince William and girlfriend Chelsy Davy went along to the parade at Combermere Barracks.
Prince Harry was deployed to Helmand earlier this year where he was in charge of Household Cavalry Regiment Battlegroup's Forward Air Controllers. He returned to the UK on March 1 after 10 weeks, following a press leak by a US website of his whereabouts.

- Prince Harry wasn't the only soldier to be presented with a medal by HRH. I believe that there were a not insignificant number of members of the Territorial Army who were attached to the HC in Afghanistan who were presented with medals by The Princess Royal on Monday. In my view, that is the real story. The unsung heroes are the Yeomanry, without whom the Army would have difficulty fulfilling their commitments.
