Major rail disruption

9:40am Fri 11th Apr 08:: written by Gareth McPherson

Rail passengers between Maidenhead and Marlow faced 'major disruption' this morning during rush hour.

A points failure at Bourne End led to commuters being ferried onto bus replacement services from around 7am after the trains stopped running.

A spokesman from First Great Western apologised to customers and told the Advertiser at 9.15am today that service should return to normal shortly.

"Trains have been suspended due to a points failure which Network Rail are working as hard as they can to mend," he said.
