Slough funeral for Eastenders actress who collapsed on set
A veteran EastEnders actress and much-loved Windsor resident has died after collapsing on the set of the famous TV show.
More than 300 people packed Slough Crematorium on Monday to say goodbye to Ina Clare, 77, who played supporting character and flower stall vendor Ina Foot in the legendary soap.
In a recent EastEnders storyline her workmate Jean Slater (played by actress Gillian Wright) organised a birthday party for her in the show's famous Queen Vic pub.
Ina was born Windsor in 1933. In recent years the former Tiller Girl lived in Dagmar Road. She wanted to be a dancer at an early age, despite being told by the headmistress at her Windsor school: 'The only dancing you will do is on the steps of Woolworths'.
She proved her wrong and got her first job at 16 dancing in the pantomime at the town's Theatre Royal.
Ina collapsed on set after suffering a cerebral haemorrhage and died two days later.
