12:15pm Wed 28th Jul 10:: written by Sonia Kapur

Parish councillors and clerks are due to meet Royal Borough leaders tonight to discuss David Cameron's Big Society scheme.

They will put forward suggestions about the delegated powers that can be handed down to parish councils.

The scheme will see the borough, as well as three other nationwide authorities, pilot the project which includes devolving power downwards.

Bray Parish councillors have suggested the council be granted delegated powers to monitor community wardens, grant or refuse planning applications, and manage roads.

But it has raised concerns about funding and lack of financial support.
