Tributes made to man, 23, killed in car crash

3:05pm Tue 9th Feb 10:: written by Laura Enfield

A grieving sister has paid tribute to her 'unique and amazing' brother who was killed in a car crash last week.

Maidonian Osman Waraich was just moments from work when his black Alfa Romeo smashed into a bus in Lancaster Road, High Wycombe, at 9.45am. The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

His elder sister Shabana Waraich, said he was the key to their whole family, always ready with advice or a kind word to diffuse any argument. She said: "He was the youngest but the wisest and so intelligent  and caring and would give us advice and guidance. If there were any quarrels he would put us back together again."

Osman, known to his friends as Ozzy, lived with his father Zulfiquar, who owns Apollo Executive Cars, mother Safia and brother Imran, 26, in Laggan Road. A Maidonian born and bred, he went to Ellington Primary School and then Desborough School.

An inquest into Osman's death was opened and adjourned by the Buckinghamshire coroner on Thursday. The driver of the bus was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but has since been released. Four passengers were unhurt.
Police have not released any further details of how the crash happened.
