Man assaulted after getting off Langley train

2:14pm Tue 24th Nov 09:: written by Nick Mayo

An Asian man who mistakenly got off the train in Langley fell victim to a robbery and assault.

The 25-year-old had been travelling to Slough on Tuesday last week when he got off the train and walked along the Goodman Park canal path and asked for directions.

After walking for about half a mile, he stopped to sit on a bench, when three men approached him and asked for a light at 3pm.

When he stood up to get a lighter out of his pocket, one of the men punched him in the face and demanded his mobile phone while the others held his arms behind his back and searched his pockets.

They then tried to throw the victim into the canal and made racist comments to him, before running off stealing his Nokia mobile phone, wallet, Dell laptop and bag, and his French passport.

All three are described as black and about 20-years-old, the man who punched the victim is 5ft 8ins, with short, curly black hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a brown hooded top and baggy blue jeans.
The second man is 6ft, with short, curly black hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing a white top and blue jeans, while the third, who put a balaclava on, is 5ft 8ins and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information can contact the Slough priority crime team on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
