CAR JACK TRIAL UPDATE: Jury reaches verdict

4:07pm Fri 20th Nov 09:: written by Laura Enfield

A man has been found guilty of deliberately mowing down a mother as she tried to stop him stealing her car.

The jury at Reading Crown Court delivered their verdict this afternoon and found Kevin Johnson guilty of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

He ran over Caroline Johnson (pictured) outside her home in Humber Way, Langley, causing her to become trapped under the vehicle. She was dragged along the road for 20 metres and then left for dead in the road.

The 46-year-old suffered multiple injuries that left her in hospital for over two months.  She is still unable to walk without the aid of a wheelchair.

Mr Richardson formerly of Chalvey had already admitted to causing grievous bodily harm, aggravated vehicle-taking and dangerous driving.

Ms Napper from Martin Road, Chalvey, admitted to aggravated vehicle-taking but the judge directed the jury to find her not guilty of GBH and GBH with intent.

Both Richardson and Napper will be sentenced next month.
