Soaring car crime incidents in Cookham has led to a crackdown by police.
Plain clothed offices and uniformed officers will be scouring the village on the lookout for known car thieves and vandals.
In the last few months, car windows have been smashed in Odney Lane, Cookham, and car locks have been drilled out in Church Road, Cookham Dean.
In the last year, thefts from vehicles across the borough have risen by 10.7 per cent.
Chief Inspector Dave Gilbert, for Thames Valley Police, said: "We will be targeting known criminals to make sure this sudden spike in car crime stops. "In particular, throughout the borough there has been a real rise in locks being drilled."
He added: "The message to residents as always is make sure they do not leave anything valuable in cars."
