Detectives have revealed the haul of Rolex watches snatched from a robber's grasp by a hero security guard was worth £170,000.

The figure has been released following the foiled raid by a hammer-wielding bike gang at Ernest Jones jewellers in Maidenhead High Street on Friday last week.

A 21-year-old man arrested following the raid has been re-bailed until November 17 pending further enquiries. A 27-year-old man was released without charge.
