Savvy Windsor residents rent out driveways

2:33pm Thu 22nd Oct 09:: written by Justin Burns

Homeowners in Windsor are cashing in by hiring out their driveways to motorists looking for parking spots.

Resourceful householders are renting out their unused car parking spaces charging people on average between £86.40 - £105.60 a month.

As the Royal Borough works to increase the number of parking spots in the town to cope with the growing number of visitors and events, entrepreneurial Windsonians are boosting their coffers.

The rental figure charged for each space is based on the size, location and the security it offers through Park Let, a company specialising in administering the rental of spaces and garages.

Among spaces up for hiring are a car parking space 200 metres from Windsor Station, which earns the owner a tidy £120 a month or £1,440 a year.
