GET CREATIVE: Design MP Theresa May's Christmas card
8:07am Sat 17th Oct 09
It is time for creative youngsters to get their thinking caps on and design a Christmas card for MP Theresa May.
The Maidenhead MP has this week launched her annual Christmas card competition.
Children under the age of 11 across the town are being asked to design a card that she will send to recipients including Number 10 Downing Street.
Mrs May has this year decided to give budding artists a theme for their cards – Christmas at home.
“This year I am looking for something that is lovely and fun,” she said.
One lucky winner will walk away with a one-day pass for a family-of-four at Legoland Windsor. Not only will the child win the tickets that are normally priced £148 but their design will appear on hundreds of cards.
The card will be sent to fellow MPs as well as Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Last year a picture by Callum Corcoran showing Christmas in London caught the eye of Mrs May.
The contest attracted more than 40 entries and Mrs May hopes to see even more entries this year.
Entries should be marked Theresa May’s Christmas Card and sent to Maidenhead Advertiser, 48 Bell Street, Maidenhead, SL6 1HX.
The closing date is Thursday, November 19.
