Planning meeting: House build approved despite concerns

An application to build a house in Altwood Close has been given the green light despite concerns from neighbours about road safety.
The Royal Borough's development control panel has given permission for a four-bedroom house with an internal garage in land at Beech Cottage, Altwood Close, Maidenhead.
Neighbours as well as MP Theresa May had raised concerns about the plans, relating to privacy and the increase in flow of traffic which may be dangerous.
The application for a children's centre at Larchfield Primary School was withdrawn from the agenda to allow for 'further local consultation.'
Other decisions made last night at Maidenhead's Town Hall include:
• To permit a temporary site office and compound for the reconstruction of the western region railway bridge on the A404 (retrospective), in Littlewick Showground, Ascot Road.
• To permit construction of a three-bedroom end of terrace house in land at 20 Tithe Barn Drive, Bray.
• Construction of a replacement house at Wharf House, Marlow Bridge Lane, Bisham.
