Last chance to support St Mark's Minor Injuries Unit

3:08pm Thu 10th Sep 09:: written by Sonia Kapur

This is your last chance to support the Advertiser’s and MP Theresa May’s Who Cares Wins campaign.

The campaign has been fighting to keep the minor injuries unit (MIU) a permanent fixture at St Mark's Hospital in Maidenhead.

It has been nearly a year since it was opened as a trial scheme. The campaign has been calling on all Maidonians to sign petitions and fill in slips. It has already been supported by 7,094 residents across the town.

Every single slip and signature will be presented to Sally Kemp, chairman of NHS Berkshire East, on Tuesday morning.

Mrs May is urging all households to back the campaign if they have not already done so. “We desperately need to keep the minor injuries unit in our town and there is a real need for this facility for local people,” she said.

The future of the service that was backed by the Advertiser and Maidenhead MP Theresa May, is to be discussed by NHS Berkshire East on Thursday, September 24.

Slips are printed in today's Advertiser and should be sent in by Monday 5pm.
