Horses and their riders hit by man suspected of drink-driving in Audi TT

A motorist who was over the drink-drive limit has been arrested after hitting a group of horse riders.

Two of the three riders were taken to hospital with serious fractures after being thrown from their horses in Hatchet Lane, Winkfield yesterday.

A vet had to put down two of the horses at the road side due to their injuries whilst another is still being treated.

Police closed the country lane at about 2.52pm.

A man driving an Audi TT was arrested after failing a breath test.
