The future looks bright for St Piran’s School as expansion work is well underway.
Work to build three new classrooms at the school in Gringer Hill started in the summer and looks set to be completed by Easter.
The project will provide space for extra reception children and a new outdoor play area.
Headteacher Jonathan Carroll said: "Having the facilities and space to introduce new children into the school is an exciting opportunity for us."
The school's head of catering won an award on Thursday last week.
Hazel Parry found out she had won the Thomas Frank 'Founders Award' at a special assembly when she was presented with the glass trophy by the headmaster.
The 49-year-old, who has worked at the school for nearly four years, said: "I enjoy what I do and to get this recognition is the icing on the cake."
