History will be in the making when a new festival gets underway on Monday, November 5.
The Royal Borough's libraries have teamed up with Waterstones in Windsor to organise the first ever 'Thames Valley History Festival'.
Venues across the borough will be hosting 21 authors at 10 different events for fans of history tales of all ages.
Cllr Simon Dudley, cabinet member for adult and community services,"Last year's festival of crime writing was a huge success and now our libraries team and Waterstones have come up with what is sure to be another best-seller."
Events will take place at libraries, the Windsor and Royal Borough Museum, Windsor Guildhall, Waterstones and the Windsor and Eton Brewery.
Among the themes celebrated in the festival will be 'Shakespeare's Local', 'Armies of Rome' and 'Great Queens'.
The festival will run until Saturday, November 17.
Tickets cost £5 with an advantage card or £6 without and there is a three for two offer on all of the adult events.
