A pivotal moment in the 118-year history of Desborough College was celebrated yesterday.
A Fellowship Day was held to mark the Maidenhead college's newly acquired academy status and certificates and newly designed house ties were presented to all the pupils.
The Royal Borough Mayor Cllr Colin Rayner, Nigel Cook, the chair of Governors, Sir Ewan Harper and Johnson Kane, co-founders of the Education Fellowship, and Andrew Reekes, from school partner Radley College, also attended the event.
Sir Ewan spoke at the event and said the school's future was built on rock-solid foundations.
Headteacher Paul Frazer has said he is determined to make the school outstanding again.
