UPDATE: Driver rebailed after shops smashed in Furze Platt

A 21-year-old driver who was arrested last month on suspicion of drink and dangerous driving has been rebailed until November 10.

He was arrested at the scene on September 21 after a VW Golf crashed into a parade of shops including McEvoy and Rowley, in Furze Platt Road.

The car smashed through the front of the shop and caused thousands of pounds of damage to the outside and the interior kitchen showroom.

Witnesses can contact PC Jonathan Byng on 101 or 0800 555111.
