Firefighters from Maidenhead have been battling a blaze raging across about 300 hay bales on farmland at Stubbings in Henley Road, near the A404 motorway, since 3.30am this morning.
The Maidenhead crew was joined by firefighters from Windsor and Wokingham.
The fire was under control earlier this morning but was still being dampened down at 9.30am.
Firefighter Steve Treacher said: "We needed to employ two hosereels to stop the fire spreading to nearby trees."
The cause of the blaze is still unknown and will be fully investigated.
