A volleyball tournament, rodeo and tug-of-war will form part of a family fundraiser in Maidenhead held in aid of children in Gaza.

The Salvation Youth Trust is behind the 'Big Sunday Funday' which will be held in Laggan Park, Laggan Road on Sunday, August 24, from 11am-8pm.

Other attractions will include fairground rides, a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and a barbecue.

Football freestyler coach Colin Nell will also be there to display his talent on stage and run workshops with children throughout the day.

If £1,000 is raised before the event policeman Taz Choudhary has volunteered to be gunged.

One of the six event organisers Safina Ashraf said: "In organising this event we hope to rally the people of Maidenhead in helping the innocent civilians affected by this Middle East conflict."

She added: "Urgent life-saving support is needed now and as parents ourselves, we all felt morally obliged to do our bit."

The committee is also on the hunt for musicians to perform on the day and is ideally looking for beat boxers and rappers.
