Road works at the junction of Castle Hill and Grenfell Road are set to run until the beginning of September.
The junction is closed from Grenfell Road, but access to the Elva Lodge Hotel is open from both roads.
Work is being undertaken to install 60 metres of large diameter water pipes and there are two-way traffic lights in Castle Hill.
Laura Lion, co-owner of the hotel, said the workmen have been 'very helpful' and opened the access from Castle Hill so guests could get to the car park.
Licence holder of The Windsor Castle pub in Bath Road, Misko Coric, said the works had been an 'inconvenience' but had not affected business.
