McDonald's has applied for permission to refurbish its branch in Maidenhead High Street.
The fast food chain hopes to change its entrance doors, alter the signage and bring the shop front forward through a 13 square metre extension.
The architects say 'the building will change minimally in shape and size, yet simply adopt a more contemporary facade'.
It has also applied for permission to display three illuminated signs.
A decision will be made by Wednesday, September 17.
