A picket fence surrounding the front of a home in Cranbrook Drive, Pinkneys Green, has been found to be in breach of planning regulations.
The Royal Borough said this week there has been no application to install the fence submitted and it has instigated the steps necessary to start planning enforcement action.
When planning permission for the Cranbrook Drive development was granted in 1971, a condition stated that no hedge, wall, fence or other structure could be erected in front of the building line without consent from the local planning authority.
Cllr MJ Saunders, cabinet member for planning and property, said: "As soon as this was drawn to our attention by Cranbrook Drive residents, planning enforcement officers visited the site, established the breach of planning control, liaised with the property owner, and have started the work necessary to establish whether enforcement action is required."
