Temporary classrooms at Oldfield School on control panel agenda

A decision will be reached on Wednesday over whether Oldfield Primary School has permission to build two temporary classrooms.

The item is one of 11 planning applications due to be discussed at the Royal Borough development control panel meeting being held at Maidenhead Town Hall from 7pm.

The temporary classrooms would provide space for an increasing number of pupils at the school in Chiltern Road that it is struggling to accommodate.

As a result of over-subscription Oldfield is being relocated to a larger premises in Bray Road which is currently under construction.

If permitted the temporary classrooms would stay up for 16 months until the Bray Road site is completed.

Items also due to be decided on Wednesday include:

  • An application to demolish a detached house and replace it with 10, two bedroom flats in Shoppenhangers Road.
  • An application to replace four existing three bedroom semi-detached houses with four larger properties in Walgrove Gardens, White Waltham.
  • An application for a former shop building in Harrow Lane to be converted into two, two bedroom flats
