The search is on for this year's Top Pet

The Advertiser has launched the 2014 search for the area’s favourite pet.

We have teamed up with Maidenhead Petcare and Karen Gray Photography to find the top dog, perfect puss, fabulous fish or snazzy snake in Maidenhead and the surrounding area.

The aim is to celebrate our nation's love of animals. The competition is not restricted to traditional pets like cats and dogs.

There are no classes or entry criteria apart from the requirement for all entries to be domestic pets - no matter how weird or wonderful.

The owner of the winning pet will receive £50 of pet food from Maidenhead Petcare and a pet portrait session worth £299 which includes a 40cm x 40cm fine art multiple image frame and four images of your choice.

The runner-up prize is £25 of pet food from Petcare.

To enter your pet, simply complete the form which will be published in the paper weekly until May 29, 2014 and send it in to the address on the form, together with their photograph.

Alternatively, email your photo, along with the information required on the form, to kellyy@baylismedia.co.uk

You can also click here for an entry form.

We will print all the photos and ask readers to vote for their favourite pet.

The winner will be the pet which polls the most votes.

So, what are you waiting for? Whether you have a cute cat, great gerbil, diamond dog, special spider or regal reptile, get your pictures in before the closing date of Friday, May 30.

We will run all the entries with voting forms in the Advertiser on June 5 and 12, 2014. The winners will be announced on June 26, 2014.
