Islam Awareness Week comes to Maidenhead next week and the whole community is invited to become involved.

An exhibition to highlight the week will be opened at the library in St Ives Road by the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead Cllr Andrew Jenner on Saturday, March 15 at 11am. The exhibition will run during normal library hours until Friday, March 21.

There will also be an open session at Maidenhead Mosque, Holmanleaze, on Sunday, March 16 at 2pm with non-Muslims welcome to attend.

The session will be run by guest speaker Munawwar Hussein who is the Muslim Chaplain at Eton College. It will run for approximately an hour with the opportunity to ask questions and refreshments at the end.

This is the 21st year of Islam Awareness Week and the theme will be 'social action', showcasing projects around Maidenhead including food banks, soup kitchens, youth activities and more.
