Fire advice issued for winter months

A reminder has been issued for people to follow simple safety advice when keeping warm at home as temperatures drop this winter.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) wants people to reduce the risk of starting an accidental fire.

Advice includes:

  • Keep chimneys and flues clean and well maintained
  • Keep portable heaters away from curtains and furniture
  • Always unplug electric heaters when you go out or go to bed
  • Don't use a hot water bottle at the same time as an electric blanket

Visit rbfrs.co.uk for more information.
