Woman charged with making false allegation about chemical attack

A 35-year-old woman has been charged with making a false allegation about a chemical attack in Braywick Park in Maidenhead.

Katherine Franklin, of Heathcote, has today been charged with two counts of perverting the course of justice.

The first charge relates to an allegation of an assault involving a stranger pouring caustic soda on Franklin in the park on October 4 last year.

Franklin is also charged with making a series of false crime reports between July 1, 2011, and October 5, 2011, which included incidents of burglary, harassment, robbery and assault.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear before Slough Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, December 17.
