The Royal British Legion has set the record straight with a video demonstrating the only official, authorised guidance on how to wear a poppy -- and that is with pride.
The video will dispel all myths about wearing a poppy, including wearing it over the heart, with the leaf set at 11 o’clock and the stalk pointing down. It goes on to show a series of ways that poppies are worn on vehicles, on pets, and even as a tattoo.
The Legion’s director of fundraising Charles Byrne said: “We wanted to end the debate about how to wear a poppy during this year’s Poppy Appeal. The way you choose to wear your poppy is a matter of personal choice. As long as you wear it with pride, then you’re wearing it the right way.”
