The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has announced that strike action will take place on Friday, November 1, from 6.30pm to 11pm, and on Monday, November 4, from 6am to 8am.
The FBU is currently in dispute with the Government over changes to the Firefighters' Pension Scheme and conditions of service.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) says it has contingency plans in place, but that during a period of industrial action it has significantly fewer resources and will therefore be prioritising life critical incidents, such as house fires and road traffic collisions where people are trapped.
RBFRS will still be responding to 999 calls but is asking people to reduce demand by calling only in a genuine emergency and taking extra care to reduce the risk of fire.
