Signalling problems cause train delays

Signalling problems between Twyford and Maidenhead mean fewer trains are able to run on London-bound relief lines this morning.

Train services between Reading and London Paddington may be delayed by up to 20 minutes at short notice.

One frustrated commuter said she heard someone say 'they were the worst trains in the world' and that 'she was lucky she had someone who could pick her up' but others weren't so lucky.

First Great Western say an estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.

To find out whether this will impact your journey and to get alternative options visit www.nationalrail.co.uk or call  08457 484950.

UPDATE 11.07: Services running between London and Reading are now running normally following signalling problems between Maidenhead and Twyford this morning.
