A 26-year-old man arrested in connection with an ongoing inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Oxford has been named as Bilal Ahmed of Suffolk Road, Maidenhead.
Ahmed has been charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old and rape of a girl under 16 in connection with the Operation Bullfinch inquiry.
His identity was revealed after a reporting restriction preventing the press from revealing his name was successfully challenged by the Oxford Mail newspaper at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.
Ahmed is due to enter a plea on Tuesday, September 17, with a potential trial date pencilled in for January.
The location is yet to be confirmed.
Ahmed was remanded in custody.
