Flag raising ceremony marks fifth Armed Forces Day

Veterans, cadets and members of the Royal British Legion were amongst those who commemorated the fifth annual Armed Forces Day.

A flag raising ceremony was held to mark the event outside Maidenhead Town Hall in St Ives Road on Monday at 10.30am.

More than 30 people turned up to show their respect as Cllr Andrew Jenner, Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, made a poignant speech.

A similar ceremony was also held at York House in Sheet Street, Windsor the same day at 10.45am and led by Deputy Mayor Cllr John Lenton.

Annual Armed Forces Day is officially commemorated on Saturday.
