Tributes were paid after schoolgirl Poonam Bhattal, 13, from Langley, died on an Italian school ski trip. The pupil at Guru Nanak Sikh Academy, in Hayes, fell from a chairlift at the Claviere resort and died as she was being rushed to hospital.
Frightened neighbours have spoken after shots were fired at a house in Slough in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Police were called to the shooting in Wellesley Road at 3.40am after the shooting which caused damage to the front of the property.
A drunk driver who ploughed into two horses and drove for 50 yards with one on his roof should have received a tougher sentence according to one of the riders he seriously injured. A man who threatened to jump from an M40 bridge is in police custody for causing a danger to road users. His threats caused huge delays for motorists after a section of the busy motorway was closed for nearly six hours.
