Teams compete for Maidenhead Pancake Race crown

The crowds turned out in force to witness the seventh annual Maidenhead Pancake Race today as teams from businesses around the town competed for first prize.

A total of 17 teams of two picked up their frying pans and took on the challenge, which involved a 50m relay sprint involving at least two flips of the pancake along the pedestrianised area of King Street.

Members of the La Roche gym in Crown Lane dominated the event, with its two teams, the Elites and All Stars, finishing first and second respectively.

Maidenhead Golf Club took the crown for best fancy dress.

Maidenhead Advertiser reporters James Preston and Michael Owen battled bravely but were knocked out by the All Stars in the semi-finals.
