Girls allowed at Berkshire College of Agriculture

12:00am Tue 12th Feb 08:: written by Glenn Mitchell

Girls will be swapping their handbags for hard hats at the Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) next month.

The college in Burchetts Green is hosting the event on March 6 for schoolgirls in years 10 and 11 who want to make their way in male-dominated industries.

Students will experience a day at the college and encounter hands-on sessions in painting and decorating, brickwork and blockwork and motor vehicle mechanics, while getting a feel for what being at college is really like.

The day runs from 9.15am-5pm, and free transport is offered from within a 25 mile radius of the college.

Other free taster days at BCA are available in animal care, construction and painting and decorating, early years and health studies, equine, floristry, horticulture and countryside management, motor vehicle, and public services and sport.

Contact 01628 827401 or email marketing@bca.ac.uk for details.
