Manny makes shock return to York Road

4:07pm Wed 5th Nov 08:: written by Steve Spencer

Manny Williams will be back leading the line for the Magpies on Saturday after manager Johnson Hippolyte swooped to sign the free-scoring striker on a loan deal.

Fans’ favourite Williams finished last season as top scorer for the Magpies with 30 goals, but moved on to Conference Premier side Woking at the end of the campaign.

However, Williams has struggled to command a regular place.
When he became available, manager Hippolyte was not prepared to lose the opportunity to have Williams in his team.

He said: “He is a quality player and the sort of player you want in your team. I don’t know how I am going to pay for him yet, I will have to speak to (financial director) Peter Griffin.”

Hippolyte hinted that someone may have to be released from the squad to make way for the returning front man.
