Minor Counties Trophy: Berks lose final at Lord's

Berkshire CCC succumbed to defeat at the hands of Devon CCC by 40 runs in the Minor Counties Knockout Trophy Final today.

The county side were chasing a target of 290-4 at Lord's but were bowled out for 250 in 48 overs.

Skipper Bjorn Mordt top scored with 79 and put on a 91-run patnership with Paul Carter for the seventh wicket.

At one stage, Berks were 113-6 and looked likely to record victory, but Carter was run out, signalling their downfall.

The pick of the Devon bowlers was Bishop with 4-40 and Hancock 3-13.
