3:15pm Mon 4th Aug 08:: written by Lisa De Sousa

A young woman who was killed when the sports car she was travelling in crashed into a golf driving range has been named.

Rajbir Bains, 23, was from Hitchin, in Hertfordshire, but was believed to have been staying in Slough.

She was a passenger in a silver MG convertible when it left the Bath Road at about 6.25pm on Thursday while travelling near the junction of Elbow Meadow, in Colnbrook.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow.

A second woman taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries has since been discharged.

In a statement released this week her devastated family paid tribute to their ‘beloved daughter, sister and aunt.’

“We, the Bains, Thandi and Phull family, are devastated by our tragic loss.
“Our Raji is with her dear granddads in heaven. We love her forever."

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses and urge anyone with information to contact PC Dave Beeson on 0845 8 505 505.

*A 26-year-old woman in her twenties has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until August 4 pending further inquiries.
