Young striker Jordan Dowdican has committed his immediate future to Burnham FC by putting pen to paper on a contract.
Dowdican broke into the first team last season in the FA Trophy tie at Tiverton Town after some good performances in the youth team.
He soon came to the notice of others and went for a six week trial, towards the end of last season, at Championship team Norwich City.
Manager Dave Mudge was pleased to secure the services of Jordan who he feels will be a big plus for the Blues this season.
He said: “I was surprised he wasn’t picked up at Norwich City but I am delighted he has agreed stay with us.
“There were a few other clubs in the area after him, but I don’t think they were straight with him.
“Anyway he came back to me and said he wanted to play for Burnham.
“It’s great. He’s 17, so one for the future, and a Burnham lad. I’m delighted he will be part of the squad.”
- For the second time in a week, Burnham have had their opponents pull out of a fixture.
Last Wednesday Leighton Town withdrew from the arranged match due to take place on Saturday and fortunately, Boreham Wood stepped in.
Now Aylesbury United have withdrawn from the arranged fixture on Tuesday with Wealdstone taking their place at The Gore on Monday, August 4, kick-off 7.30pm.
