Body found in Thames

Police searching for a missing man who disappeared in the River Thames have found his body close to where he disappeared.

The body was found by officers from Thames Valley Police's Specialist Search and Rescue Team near to Windsor racecourse at around 2.15pm this afternoon.
Police have since confirmed it to be Peter Jones from Slough.

Emergency services mounted a massive search operation after 43-year-old Mr Jones vanished into a stretch of the Thames close to the racecourse after attending a river boat party late on Wednesday night, July 23.

A police helicopter, divers, a dog handler and a fire and rescue service launch were all involved in the search operation which took in the river and surrounding banks.
