The family of a Slough man who went missing in the River Thames on Tuesday night are growing increasingly concerned for his safety.

Peter Jones, 43, was at a party on a river boat and was last seen entering the water near Windsor Racecourse at about 9.50pm on July 23.

Mr Jones' family have released a statement saying: "We are naturally very worried for Peter’s welfare as he has now been missing for over 20 hours. We urge him to get in contact with us as soon as possible to let us know that he is safe and well.”

Police are investigating how he came to be in the water.
Fire crews searched for several hours on the night he went missing and police were continuing the search yesterday.

Anyone with information should call Det Insp Steve Armstead on 08458 505505.
